What is Younger-Onset Dementia?

‘Younger-Onset dementia’, often referred to as ‘early-onset dementia’ is when someone is diagnosed or shows symptoms of dementia before the age of 65.

The Problem

Younger-onset families are unseen, misunderstood, and under resourced

  • 4 million individuals are living with YOD globally which equates to over 16 million family members impacted by this condition [JAMA Network, 2021]
  • By 2050, an estimated 12 million individuals will be diagnosed with younger-onset dementia, with over 48 million family members impacted [insert reference]
  • 85% of families worldwide affected by dementia do not receive support [ADI, 2022]

The Solution

Lorenzo’s House is a sanctuary for the sons, daughters and their families affected by younger-onset dementia — of any form. A place for us:

  • Bringing LIGHT in 47 states & 15 countries
  • 400,000 People Reached

So… no one daughter, son or family of younger-onset walk this journey alone, instead united in community.
